today has been awesome. i went to prayer this morning and then i went to equip. t.o. spoke on being a "people person". very interesting concepts that i never really think about- like how our nonverbal communication says more about us than we think- our appearance, our facial expressions, our clothes, etc.

and our verbal communication is really crucial, too.

i'm really learning a lot from this class. it's really awesome. oh, and we got a book by andy stanley for our class. cool!

so now i'm at home with lizzy!! she's back from wyoming!!! i'm soooo happy.
and in a few minutes i'm going to eat with my grandparents and parents and brothers at mr. gatti's. (the last supper!-before camp! lol.)
and then i'm coming back home to pack for CAMP!!!!!!
florida bound!!!!!! i can't wait!!!!!! only like sixteen hours to go!!!!!!!

so yeah, i'm looking forward to seeing what God's got planned for us at camp. i'm expecting the best! soooooooooooooooo excited!!!

ok, i'm about to leave. i'm tired, but i'm hyper all at the same time. :-D

hopefully i'll see a lot of you tomorrow. keep us in your prayers. (if you aren't going- and even if you are. pray for our protection and for God's Spirit to fall on us. thank you!)

finally

so like, sorry it's been so long since i've posted. my week has been amazing and fun and crazy and stressful and exhausting and boring and exciting. so if i give you all of the details then you'll fall asleep, but i will tell you a little of what i've been doing.

equip started tuesday. awesome class. i actually switched to the minisrty stream instead of worship because i feel like that's probably more where my heart is. and so this class is about leadership. and everone who is taking it should be gearing up to start their own life group or to team up with someone else in the class to lead one. wow! that's big.

and also i've gone to morning prayer all week. and we (jordan, jordan, jd, laiken, emily, whitney, and the other two kids whose names i can't think of or spell) helped roll tee shirts for camp and put them in bags with a wrist band and a magazine and a button.

then i went on an outreach on wednesday with jp, rachel, jordan, and again two people whose names i don't know. and we handed out gum downtown. which was sooo much fun. one man called us back after we had given him gum and were walking away. he asked us to pray for him because he is going through some hard times in his life right now. that was so amazing! right there in the middle of the sidewalk with people walking all around us- laying hands on this man! reaching the world by serving one. how cool is God!!

then i went to guitar lessons after the outreach. and then i went home to get ready for church. then i went back to church and helped brittany cut flyers and stuff. then i went to refuge and had an awesome time. God's presence was really strong. and i felt like i was more focused on Him than on myself because i had spent this week serving instead of sitting at home wondering what to wear the next day.

thursday i went to prayer and then baby-sat for the rest of the morning. then i went to the annex for the afternoon and went to life group that night.

friday was tee shirt day! and equip! we did shirts all morning and finished them right after lunch. then we had class at 2:30 and then heather, phill, jerusha, charis, stephanie, jordan, jd, and i folded a bunch of camp flyers and ate pizza.

today, i slept until 10:30, went to target, and went to the peru fundraiser at church. (blake, laiken, leah, brooke, brooke's mom, jared, miss amy, miss kim, harmony, lacy, and i- and another guy named tori!)

tomorrow, my little bro laeaves for pathfinders camp and i'm prolly going to the fundraiser again. and LIZZY gets home from wyoming tomorrow!!!!!!! i haven't seen her all summer! i miss ya, friend!

then monday is probably shopping for camp-swim suit, etc.

tuesday is morning prayer and equip class.

WEDNESDAY IS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
literally camp is almost equal to if not better than christmas for me!
(it costs just about as much. lol. but it's so worth it!)

so i know i said that i wasn't going to bore you with datails and stuff, but i did. so if you read all of it then you must've been really bored. and if you skimmed through it then you may have missed an important piece of information that will change your life. jk. :-)

so i'm really tired, but i've loved every minute of this week. God has been teaching me a lot about servanthood (through the equip class and through just being at the annex volunteering or going to outreaches and fundraisers) i've also gotten to hang out with my friends all week! that's a big plus for me.

i want God to be able to use me as His vessel. i want to allow myself to fade out of the picture because i am so focused on my Father. i want to forget about myself and think only about God and i want to lead others to Him.

so i promise i'm done with this post and you can stop reading now. lol.

Equip

refuge's summer internship starts tuesday!!! i'm so excited.

we get to choose between three "streams". media, worship, or ministry. although this is going to be a very tough decision, i think i'm probably going to do the worship stream.

i'm not really that great on either violin or guitar and i guess i'm okay at singing, but i really want to learn more about music and worshipping God. the point of this thing is to learn, right?

so yeah, i'm gonna pray about it and make sure that that's what God wants me to do.

if you've taken the roots class and want to be in on this, sign up- 'cause it starts this tuesday at 8:30 sharp!

here's the info:

Time

this is something i wrote a couple of days ago. thought i'd share it. :-) ...

As a Christian, the time that I spend on this earth is not my own. I have dedicated my life to my Father. I want to change the people around me because I live according my Father's business, not the world's.

So why do I waste my life sitting on the couch, watching tv, and obsessing over my image and reputation? Why can't I get off of my butt and do something to make a difference in people's lives? God doesn't want me to spend my life being a lazy grouch.

He wants me to be joyful, patient, and kind. He wants me to love others as I love myself. Stop worrying about my own hollow desires and start focusing on His desires.

Trust me, I've done this before- worrying more about God's desires than my own- and it works. Not only do I make my Father's face smile, but my life begins to be fulfilled and I start to enjoy life. I'm satisfied and happy rather than being empty.

So, tomorrow is a new day. Time is not my own. I don't own my life- He does. I gave it to Him and I'm better for it. He will never leave me or forsake me, so this time I'm not gonna leave Him and forsake Him. Life is too short to waiste on the temporary cravings of the human soul. I'm going to start spending my time on the infinite fulfillments of the everlasting, uncondtional love of the Father.

I dare you to do the same...
