all right. all right.
camp was awesome! i got to meet some pretty cool kids and connect with them. >tyler< and i also got to show the >invisible children< movie!! about twenty people came to the showing. afterwards everyone shared what God was speaking to them about what they had seen. (>patrick< also shared some great thoughts with us!)
and deal or no deal...ASTOUNDING, >leah
well, anyway...camp was great. so was independence day! and this week has also been pretty great and sad and hectic...
first of all...yesterday we had to say goodbye to julia! :( that was one of the hardest things i've ever done. we were all balling our eyes out. it's gonna be so sad not having her here, but i know that God started a work in her while she was here and i really believe that He is going to draw it out of her when she gets home. (pray that she makes it to germany safely...her flights got a bit messed up and she can't leave newark until 6pm tonight.)
julia has such a great heart! and i know God sent her to mrs. paula and mr. glen for a reason... tweezy called it when he said that julia is gonna turn germany upside down for God! i really believe it.
but we're all really missing her!! we're gonna miss sushi nights...german pancake nights, and BOILED PEANUTS!! lol. but she'll be back!!
...well...
la is in 4 days!!!!!!! i can't believe it!! thanks again to everyone who is supporting us. please continue to pray for us, too. we've got a devoted and united team that is passionate about reaching the lost! God's got His hand on us!!
also...
again God is so incredible!! elevate applications are due this sunday...i hadn't even started to think about fundraising for the $700 it costs... but tuesday night my parents went to dinner with some of our close friends and they gave them a check for me for $500!!! the next morning my mom handed me the check and i freaked out!!! i could NOT believe it. i knew God was giving me huge confirmation!!
so then...my dad went to pick my brothers up from vbs yesterday, and he saw our friends again and they gave him 2 more checks- one for children's cup and another one for me for $500 more!!!!!!!!
we thought maybe they forgot that they had already given me a check for that amount and accidentally did it again (not that you could really forget that you had done that) but no!! they meant to give it!!!
so now i'm completely in awe. i know that i know that i know...lol...that i'm going in the right direction.
God never leaves me hanging and for some reason i act surprised.
i am so excited about all that God is letting us be a part of. la, elevate, and...
refuge may possibly be taking a missions trip to africa next summer!! nothing is for sure...but after watching invisible children at camp me, tyler, emily, telia, and a few others really started feeling like we needed to get up and make something happen. we've got so much time on our hands (sort of) and we're ready to put our energy into something big for God. we're ready to make it happen!!
we plan on doing a lot of engage projects with >children's cup<...and (before that) we want to start doing a whole lot more justice projects in our own community! so please be praying that we have wisdom and good planning skills, creativity, unity, and vision!!
wooohooo!!!!!
so yeah...
that's about it for now.
camp and other pics coming soon...
