- hmm...i think that strobe lights are the coolest things ever! sometimes i use pesto as a salad dressing...i like to jam to keith green music...and i think it would be so cool to become a vegetarian (i wish!) someday i would love to be a missionary (in a sense, i think everyone should be) my ambition is to have a passion for people like Jesus has...and to turn the world upside down for His glory...i want everyone to experience what i've experienced in God- and so much more. "people, they are the only reason that this earth is still spinning.") refuge is the best youth group ever! hpc is the best church ever! i have the best family ever! i have the best friends ever! i attend/co-lead/lead the best life groups ever! and i serve The most incredible God! and He reminds me to just breathe! to be still and know that He is God. (in case you don't know me- i over analyze so much that i drive myself insane- so, yes, sometimes i must be reminded to just shut up and breathe in His peace.) yep! that's me. i'm just a simple yet complex freak...who, for some reason, God decided to bless and to use for His glory. Because if you do...that's just creepy, 'cause that's what I call my grandmother...

i think santa is a human, too, but my dad and my grndmother both sat that he's an elf because of the line in " the night before Christmas" where they are describing santa as a" jolly old elf". i still think he's human. if was an elf wouldn't he have pointy ears?
and yes i do call my grandmother "meemaw". khira said that you call your grandma that, too. i wonder where that name originated. kinda weird. i mean how many other "meemaws" have you heard of? crazy.
i suppose you could make a case for santa being human if you went with the origination of the name santa "claus" - there was a dude that was rich and went around throwing gifts over the walls of poor people's houses during the night - it is thought that he's where the name "santa claus" comes from. he was a real dude - therefore not an elf.
however - there's way too much stuff that we take as "fact" from the tnbc poem to ignore the reference to him being an elf in the pseudo-imaginary representation of santa. he smokes a pipe. he's fat. he's got a rudolph-like nose. and, he doesn't say "merry christmas" but opts for the less-familiar "happy christmas" terminology.
so there. santa 101.
and why do you continue to even ask about this, tori? haven't you learned in 15 years that dad is right 99.999999% of the time? (there was that one time.... an anomaly of the most freakish sort.)
here in swaziland and southern parts of africa the greeting is "happy christmas."
sometimes i think santa is all that tnbc says...especiallly on christmas eve.
but it's just the pretending fun part.
i do hope the santa part NEVER takes over the reality of Jesus coming and our celebration of that wonderful event.
